“Coldest temps in San Antonio history …”
Yep. We passed cold two days ago. I don’t think we made it out of the mid 30’s yesterday, but it didn’t feel too bad once the wind died down. I woke up to 18* with a wind chill making it feel like 12*.
Not so bad if I didn’t have plans to do Week 1, Day 3 this morning.
What an interesting first week of the Couch to 5K (C25K) this has been! I had planned my runs this week for Sunday, Tuesday, and Thursday. On schedule Sunday and thought I was doing okay Tuesday until the unexpected 5pm meeting at the office. Didn’t get home until close to 7. As much as I wanted to lace up and head out the door, the 12 hour work day had me tired & hungry when I finally arrived at my doorstep. There was no energy left in me so I pushed Tuesday to Wednesday morning and, aside from the majority of the run intervals going up hills, I had a good session. Thursday had to become Friday and I again had to work late. I was so totally bummed when I finally walked in my front door. The sun was down, the temps were falling, and Hub wanted dinner. So I pushed Day 3 to Saturday (today) and I’m waiting for the thermometer to read something a whole lot warmer than the 14* I just saw when I checked.
The temperature has fallen 4* since I started writing.
Amazing.
Wonder what the windchill makes it feel like?
Long story short, I’m going to extend week 1 and whenever I make it out the door today will call today W1D1 and finish my week on Thursday. In the long run (oooo, punny!) know I’ll be a better runner for it.
The 5K I want to RUN (NOT walk) is May 1st … and it’s gonna be a blast!
