It doesn’t matter how many miles I do or how good or bad those miles happen to be. The last mile each day is always the best. I will, without fail, begin smiling … really smiling … when I look down to check my Garmin and realize I have less than a mile to go.
Let’s look at Saturday: I hit my 5k split and was NOT happy with my time. I pouted until I hit the 5.5 mile mark. It was at that point I checked my distance and realized, “Hey, I did it! I only have one more mile to go! Very cool! And I feel GREAT! Woooo Hoo!”
Yeah, I’m pretty goofy & I’m not afraid to admit it. I imagine most of us that enjoy pounding out long distances feel about the same way.
Am I right or am I right?
