There will be one less entry form for the folks in Kemah to process for April’s Triathlon festival. The financial reality for Hub and me is that I have to drop my gym membership, which means I won’t have winter access to a swimming pool.
Like I said, this is our reality. Hub lost his job four months ago and we are having to cut expenses where ever possible. Not that I’m complaining. It is what it is.
Are there any races in my future? Sure! There’s always the annual Komen Race for the Cure in April and our local Homes for Pets annual Doggie Dash is in May. And let’s not forget the greatest event of them all: the annual Relay for Life sponsored by the American Cancer Society.
There are plenty of running & walking events in my area and one thing I haven’t done in years is a cycling event. The last one I did was when I lived in California … many, many moons ago. I heard there was a duathlon last weekend. I hadn’t given these events much thought, but that would be fun to do. Heck, I might even be able to convince Hub to do one with me in the spring or early summer.
With plenty of races that only require roadwork, either on foot or on my bike, I know “I’ll keep on keepin’ on” as one of my friends is fond of saying.
