I found out last Saturday that I had strep throat. Really? I’m an educator and it’s summer. I haven’t been around any kids (read “germ magnets”) in over six weeks. What was this all about? The nearest I can figure is my niece brought the little germies with her. You see, her mom’s had strep three times in the last few months.
So I’ve spent the last week and a half trying to recover. I’m exhausted. All. the. time. I have set my alarm for 5 am every day since Tuesday in the hope that I would make it to the pool. I can’t manage to get out of bed on time to make it to the gym before the water aerobics classes start. I have to be in the water no later than 5:45 if I have any hope of getting a workout in. The alternative, I guess, would be to wait until after the last class of the day and swim until the gym closes.
Somehow, 9pm workouts don’t appeal to me. I wonder why.
I made some progress today. The alarm went off at 5 and I managed to take a couple laps around the house before crawling back into bed.
I’ll get some roadwork in today and set my sights on the pool for this weekend.
