I will typically have one student every year let me know when they’ve experienced my “look.” Friends have told me about my “look” and how they know that I’m serious about the matter/task at hand.
The latest conversation occurred this past week. I had a student that insisted on swinging his thumb drive around while he was waiting his turn to sign in on the computer. I asked him to put it away. Protestations from him induced the “look” from me. He started smiling and said, “I know you’re serious now because you always look that way when I’ve gone too far.” The other students in my room all flocked around and asked to see the “look.”
Yeah.
I’m going to whip the “look” out on a whim? Not a chance.
I don’t know how to duplicate it.
