Will this nightmare never end?
Day II of this week’s saga of misreading syllabi and workshop schedules:
I sat down with my project partners for my Finance class Thursday night and shared with them the confusion (on my part) about the Austin workshop. They laughed and said, “Lisa, that happens to everyone at least once. Don’t worry about it.”
One of my classmates then asked, “Did you do both of the final summaries or just the one that’s due tonite?”
Dammit.
I thought the second-to-last was due the Thursday AFTER Thanksgiving and the final summary due the week after that. I even checked my syllabus Wednesday night before going to bed to confirm it. I saw “summary due 11/29” … honest!
I was wrong.
Again.
Day III … yes, the week wasn’t over, and my failure to stay up with my deadlines continued:
I received an e-mail from one of my administrators:
“You have 25 minutes to meet that deadline on ___ .”
You have GOT to be kidding.
I thought I had another week after the break.
All I can say is thank goodness it’s Saturday and all I’m doing today (in addition to submitting all of my past-due assignments) is working the gate at the girl’s basketball tournament.
I hope I remember how to count.
Hey Writer, thanks for the reminder phone call about Thanksgiving being on Thursday.
You’re a really funny gal.
Only thing is, you didn’t say WHICH Thursday and so I’m still likely to miss it.
In case you’re interested, the gate duty gig at the basketball tourney went okay yesterday.
It appears that I am still able to count & make change for a twenty.
😀
