I tease hubby because he finds every excuse why he can’t walk with me in the morning.
He surprised me by actually getting up and heading out the door with me and the poochies this morning.
I’m so thankful that he did get up and walk with me.
We both made another commitment last night to get up every morning at 5am to get our workout in before each of us heads off to our respective campuses.
This isn’t easy! I’ve been trying to wake up at 5 for the last two weeks and I’ve only been successful three times because 5am is really, really early on a summertime morning and it’s so easy to shut off the alarm and go back to sleep.
I remember a sermon that a good friend of mine gave several years ago where he used the analogy of the snooze button on an alarm clock being like God’s prompting on our hearts. And that scared me. I know that the snooze button on my alarm clock only goes for so long before it stops prompting me to wake up. I didn’t (and don’t) want that same thing to happen to my relationship with the Lord.
So it was a very good thing that hubby got up and walked with me this morning. I teased him last night when he said he’d get up. But he honored his commitment.
As hard as it was to not hit the snooze button, roll over, and go back to sleep.
