Thankful Thursday ~ Heart’s Desire

Make Yahweh your joy and He will give you your heart’s desire ~ Ps. 37:4

I attended a series of meetings this week that will help me and my fellow teachers revitalize the way we’ve been teaching here in the district. I’m thankful that Head Cheese asked me to attend. I traded e-mails with the district’s SpecEd director yesterday talking about how I think this will affect my population and I couldn’t contain my excitement! With all of the changes in student assessment that have come down from the state coupled with the information we received this week, next school year’s going to be really interesting.

I spoke with my Director of Secondary Education (Head Cheese’s boss) and thanked her profusely for paying my conference fees so that I could attend the state math conference two weeks ago. I got so much out of it! The motivational speaker we had at the lunch session on Friday created so much excitement in the room before he left that we were all ready to stampede out the doors to find children to teach!

I’m most thankful this week for the Lord allowing me to follow my desire to be a teacher. We’re still a little over a month away from heading back into the classroom, and I really want to be able to maintain my excitement and enthusiasm through the next several weeks until it’s time for the students to walk through the front doors of my school.

Father, make my excitement and enthusiasm for teaching infectious to every member of my team! Help them to catch the fire of all that You’ve allowed me to experience this summer and use me to fan those flames to carry all of us through this next school year.

P.S. This is my century post. Whoo Hoo! 😀

  6. Ladies, you’ve blessed me with your comments! I really love being an educator and am so thankful that the Lord has allowed me to do what I do. 😀

Sharon: I’m working on my M.Ed so that I can take my principalship certification. I am on track and hope to complete my program by next Christmas.

Terri: Austin is so close, we’re just about neighbors! I live outside SA and my sister-in-law & I started marathoning last year. It was more of a “If you sign up, I’ll sign up” type of thing and we’ve been hooked ever since.

Hope y’all have a wonderful weekend!

  8. You are called to your profession as surely as any pastor or preacher. I commend you on your desire to continue learning and improving your skills. I’m sure you are a huge blessing to your students.
