I took an unintentional three week hiatus in training but headed back out on the road this morning. It felt good to be out on the road early on a Saturday morning. I had planned for a longer day (6 miles) but opted for a regular day (4 miles) when I saw the signs going up for the 5k that would take place a little later in the morning. I didn’t want to hit my turnaround point and be smack-dab in the middle of the race that I had signed up for but decided not to participate in.
Sorry Writer … the poochies haven’t been out on the road, either, and it would have been cruel to go from doing nothing to entering them in a 5k race.
I was pleased with my time this morning: shaved 2 minutes off my last day out on the road three weeks ago at the same distance.
Although I didn’t do the race, I finished my training in really good time. I’m pleased.
It felt SOOOOO good to be back out there this morning!
SA half is in a little less than 6 months.
My goal is to finish in under 3 hours.
THIS. IS. AN. ATTAINABLE. GOAL!
LOL … At least you got out and walked!! My plantar fasciitis has kept me home the last few days 🙂 Didn’t even join my running group this morning …
Ouch! Take care of that and have fun with the orthotics appointment next week. ; )
