We had a cold front blow through early yesterday morning. It was perfect timing, too.
I love the way the house smells when the spring air blows through it! I loved it so much yesterday that I threw open the windows again today!
There must have been some mysterious “cleaning” pollen that blew in with the front this time. Not only did I do a “mostly thorough” spring cleaning on the house yesterday, but I thought it a good idea to tackle the yard today.
I decided to trim back the trees a bit in the backyard. I guess I don’t know the meaning of the word, “moderation,” because those suckers … all five of them … are trimmed back as far as I was able to go without having to actually climb up and saw down limbs.
Hubby came outside a couple hours after I had started to, I thought, admire my handiwork. He looked around the yard and exclaimed, “What have you done?!” There were tree branches everywhere.
It was at that moment that I realized that we
1) don’t have a chipper; and
2) don’t have a place nearby anymore where we can dump our brush without paying a dumping fee.
While it was nice having these two days of extraordinary spring weather, the forecasters are predicting another change for us.
Given my propensity to finish a task once I start it (no matter how involved it may be), this is probably a good thing.
