The first of 99,999,567 Reasons Why I’ll Never Get To Captain My Own Ship

My department rep for the Campus Improvement Committee was sick today. Today was also the big CIC meeting with the district’s superintendent in attendance. I substituted in for our department’s rep at the meeting.

One of the parents paid me a tremendous compliment about how much he appreciates the help I provide to his child and all the students on campus that receive Special Education support.

I am not one that takes compliments well.

As I floundered my way through my thanks, I managed to say some silly things that just shouldn’t have been said.

In front of the superintendent.

Or in front of my principal.

I’m so embarrassed.

  1. oh, sweetheart, I’m sure everything you said was okay … With that said, I do the same thing! Not sure why I can’t just say “thank you” and leave it at that. Always feel I have to add something more …
    Love you, Kym
