Ode to the Royal Poochies

I took the royal poochies out for a walk earlier this morning. It was a gorgeous spring day … windy … but sunny and warm.

Quixote is cute when he walks. His little ears flap while he trots ahead of me. I had to laugh when we were blasted by a gust of wind this morning. Quixote’s ears flew straight up and he was so shocked he didn’t know what to do. The look on his face was a combination of shock, surprise, and embarrassment. Silly little guy.

Panza, the basset hound, just bounds along in his loping manner. His head bobbing back and forth like a clapper in a bell. Hence his other nickname: “ding dong.”

I had taken both of the little guys out for a mega-walk yesterday morning … 4 miles … the longest walk they’d ever been on. I rewarded them with time off the leash when we got to the high school. They loved it! Panza is fearless and ran to explore everything he could. Quixote would run to snuffle with Panza and then race back to me to make sure I was okay.

Gosh I love these furry little guys.
